There are newly slim women out there, who still see a fat person when they
look in the mirror. Sometimes changing things up with your appearance can
help shake that old vision that you have of yourself.
Self-image is your own perception of yourself, or, in other words, the image that
you hold in your own head about yourself. This image includes the way you look,
the way you act, the way you talk and the way you think. Interestingly, our
self-images are often quite different from the images others hold about us, and
very different from the unbiased truth. Unfortunately, most of these images are
more negative than they should be. Thus changing the way you think about yourself
when you look in that mirror is one of the keys to changing your self-image and
your whole world.
Whether it's a new hairstyle, going to your department store and having a
makeover at a cosmetics counter, or going and trying on clothes you would
never have considered wearing (“oh that's not my style”), and maybe even
liking what you've tried on enough to buy it or revamp your wardrobe entirely,
any and all of the efforts, little or big, that you make to internalize the
dramatic changes you've made to your body will help you keep that new body
for a lifetime. Not to mention boost your confidence and self esteem, which
is never a bad thing for anyone at any stage of their lives.
You've work very hard, now is the time to go have fun with it, explore who
this 'new' you is, find out what your style is now that what you've worked
and dreamed and intended is here. Adjusting to this new you can sometimes
be a little scary, can sometimes feel
like too much change, but we embarked on
the journey to change our bodies and
lives... so, let's take a step... and another...
and another... into our new
world, our new reality!
